Wife of the Former Governor of Ogun State, Mrs .Olufunso Amosun on the 14th of December, 2012 met with the Adire and Kampala traders at the South- west Resource Centre, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, assuring the traders of her continuous patronage.
Mrs. Amosun added that Adire cloth has become a national icon, saying there are lots of potentials in the production of the cloth for people of Ogun State and beyond.
“The Adire business has survived over a very long period of time and it remains one of our cultural patrimonies in Ogun State. As you all know, Adire has become part of me and I would always encourage other people to wear it in order to showcase our cultural heritage.”
Responding, the Iyaloja of Asero Market, Mrs. Kemi Oloyede, expressed her gratitude to the wife of the former governor for giving them an audience and identifying with their business. She assured that the traders would continue to churn out best of Adire materials for the consumption of the public.
