With the growing spread of the news of her activities, Namibian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ms. Selma Musavyi visited and sought to partner with Mrs. Olufunso on women empowerment and youth development initiatives.

Ms. Musavyi made this request during a courtesy call on the wife of the former governor at the Government House, Oke-Igbein in Abeokuta on the 10th of April, 2013. The Ambassador noted that it was time for African women to start networking and stop looking for solutions to their challenges from outside the continent. She maintained that her visit was prompted by series of empowerment and youth development programmes organized by Mrs. Amosun.

“I was impressed by the impacts of your programmes in the lives of women and Youths. We have requested for the courtesy call to share ideas with you and network with you and Ogun State Government to establish a long lasting relationship with a view to proffer solutions to some of our challenges in Africa” She said.
Responding, Mrs. Amosun expressed her willingness to partner with the government and people of Namibia with a view to empowering African women and Youths.

“I believe such partnership will bring about a fulfilling and profitable relationships, it will assist our women in both countries. This could be in form of exchange programmes that would be beneficial to both countries and enable our women to compete with the outside world,” The governor’s former wife noted.

Mrs. Amosun explained that her uplifting projects were geared towards helping vulnerable people in the society to acquire skills to enable them earn a living, saying she was desirous of teaching people “how to catch a fish rather than giving them fish always”.

She said her programmes had overtime empowered a lot of women and youths who had been trained in various vocational skills and empowered with business and start-up kits to enable them earn a living immediately.
